mlh distillery label rebrand
what?
MLH Distillery prides themselves in being a company that supports local buisnesses and using local ingredients. I wanted to focus on this idea of being a Pennsylvanian distillery.
I drew inspiration from the history of the keystone, an iconic Pennsylvania symbol. It was first used in ancient Roman civilization architecture for building arches. It was the “key” to the structure because without it, the arch would collapse.
My label design is in the shape of an arch, with the keystone at its peak to pay tribute to the origin and represent the idea of MLH being founded on strong friendship and where they built their company.
why?
In my intermediate studio graphic design course, we were tasked with creating packaging for MLH Distillery Spirits.
The main reason for the label re-design was because of a copyright lawsuit against MLH Distillery for their previous slogan. The client also wanted a more premium look that stands out of the shelves.
how?
I created the labels on Adobe Illustrator and used Photoshop to make the mockups.
