a little more about me.

My name is Katie Shope and I graduated in May 2024 from Slippery Rock University with a B.S. in communication with a concentration in advertising and a minor in art.

Everything I do is fueled by my passion for all things creative. Whether it be through graphic design, writing, photography, videography, or producing a TV segment, I thrive on building every little piece that makes a project whole. Being an inclusive leader is also a core value of mine. This is shown through my two presidency titles for on campus organizations, which are the Advertising Federation of America SRU and RockOUT (LGBTQIA+ club), and mentoring first year students. I would be honored to use my career as a tool to leave the world a little better than I found it. I strive to take advantage of every learning opportunity and dedicate the time it takes to thrive in every position I hold.

I was one of three marketing interns that were hand-picked to work for Tegna, a prestigious media company, at their KUSA station in Denver, CO. I moved halfway across the country for three months to make an investment for my future. During my time there, I was the first student producer on a show that generated $2 million a year. I also created sponsored content for nearly half a million dollars in clients that generated over 700k impressions, led internal communications, and I assisted with content analysis to develop an understanding of consumer behavior to create effective marketing strategies.

When I am not working on growing my professional skill set, you can find me climbing rocks, playing guitar, or enjoying live music.
