coco in the studio
northern colorado herpetological society
During my internship at 9NEWS, an NBC affiliate, I had the opportunity to work closely with Colorado and Company, a pay-to-play lifestyle show that generates $2 million a year. I became the first student producer for the show, with four segments aired on live television. I also filmed footage, edited video using Adobe Premiere Pro, and served as a production assistant for on- and off-site shoots.
These segments feature the Northern Colorado Herpetological Society, now named Reptile and Amphibian Center of the Rockies, based in Fort Collins, CO. This non-profit provides conservation efforts for herpetological creatures, distributes educational materials, and promotes adoptable pets in the Rocky Mountain region.
To create the segments, I coordinated logistics with the non-profit, conducted research, wrote the script, created graphics, and operated a camera during the live shows. My goal with the pieces was to educate the Colorado community about the services the organization offers, the adoptable pets, and what cold blooded friends are living right in their backyards.
national intern day
For National Intern Day, I stepped out from behind the camera to discuss my experience as an intern for 9NEWS. I talked about how I ended up in Denver, the amazing things I learned, and the impact it left on me.
